EU tells TikTok to fix ‘harmful’ For You feed, threatens fines
The European Union has ordered TikTok to change the algorithm behind its For You feed, warning the platform could face fines of up to 6 percent unless it addresses what Brussels calls a harmful 'rabbit holes' effect. The European Commission said TikTok's recommendation system repeatedly serves users similar content, including material about sadness, isolation or body image, and rejected TikTok's claim that the findings are 'fundamentally inaccurate.'
