8 schoolgirls arrested over dormitory fire that killed 16 in Kenya
Kenyan police arrested eight female students on suspicion of intentionally setting a fire at Utumishi Girls Academy that killed 16 and injured 79. Preliminary investigations identified the students as "persons of interest" in the suspected arson. Education Minister Julius Ogamba said the school violated safety rules and two teachers were told of the plan but did not intervene.
