Skunk Water: Israel's Stink Weapon and Its Global Commercial Strategy
Skunk water, a foul-smelling crowd-control weapon developed in Israel in 2004 and first used against Palestinian protesters in 2008, has spread from West Bank villages to Gaza, East Jerusalem and the United States. Israel has promoted and exported the liquid, along with the reputation for repression that makes it marketable, to police forces in South Africa, India, Colombia and US cities including St. Louis.
