Panama Declares State of Emergency After Earthquakes, More Than 100 Aftershocks Continue to Rattle Country
Panama declared a state of emergency on September 6 after two strong earthquakes damaged homes, schools, health facilities, roads and hotels across all 10 provinces and two Indigenous regions. More than 100 aftershocks have been recorded, including tremors of magnitude 5.8, 5.5 and 5.2, while 27 people were reported injured.
