American Artist Sues FIFA for $25M Over Painted-Over Whale Mural in Dallas
Artist Wyland filed a $25 million lawsuit against FIFA and others, claiming they illegally painted over his life-size whale mural in Dallas to promote the 2026 World Cup. The mural, titled Whaling Wall 82, had stood for nearly three decades and was a community icon for ocean conservation. The lawsuit alleges violation of the Visual Artists Rights Act.
