Parti Quebecois Wins Quebec Election, Reviving Independence Question
The separatist Parti Quebecois has won the most seats in Quebec's provincial election and will form the next government, reviving the question of whether the province should leave Canada. Party leader Paul St-Pierre Plamondon is expected to become premier and has promised a third independence referendum — though he says he would wait until U.S. President Donald Trump leaves office in January 2029.
