Former UK Health Minister announces bid to replace PM Starmer
Former UK Health Secretary Wes Streeting, who resigned this week, announced on Saturday he will run to replace Prime Minister Keir Starmer as Labour Party leader. The move comes as Sir Keir faces growing calls to resign after Labour's heavy defeat in local elections, with over 80 MPs urging him to step down and four junior ministers quitting. Mr. Streeting has endorsed Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham as a leading contender.
