Ex-Central African Republic President Tried in Absentia for Crimes Against Humanity
A UN-backed court in the Central African Republic has begun a trial in absentia for former President François Bozizé on charges of crimes against humanity, including murder, torture, and rape. Bozizé, who came to power in a 2003 coup and was ousted in 2013, has been living in exile in Guinea-Bissau since March 2023.
