DR Congo Files ICJ Case Against Rwanda Over Decades of ‘Abuse’
The Democratic Republic of Congo has filed a lawsuit against Rwanda at the International Court of Justice, accusing it of direct responsibility for massacres, sexual violence and forced displacement lasting more than three decades in its eastern region. The filing alleges Rwandan armed forces and proxy groups such as M23 conducted unlawful military operations from 1996 to the present, targeting Hutu refugees and other ethnic groups.
