UK Deploys Typhoon Fighters to Defend Saudi Arabia: A New Chapter in a Century of Military Ties
Britain is deploying RAF Typhoon fighters, an A400M transport and military advisers to help Saudi Arabia defend against Houthi missile and drone attacks, with the jets restricted to a defensive role. The move extends a UK-Saudi military relationship that began with a 1915 treaty, before the kingdom was founded. London is also extending air-to-air refuelling support for Saudi operations, including strikes on Houthi targets in Yemen.
