Low pressure in US midwest brings unseasonable heat to New York and Boston
A low-pressure system over the US Midwest pulled unusually warm Gulf air northward, pushing temperatures in New York and Boston to about 23C (73.4F) — roughly 7–10C above normal for early November — with similar warmth spilling into eastern Canada. Further south, severe thunderstorms and a tornado in Keyes, Oklahoma, disrupted midterm voting and prompted flood and evacuation warnings across Florida, Oklahoma and Colorado. In the Mediterranean, authorities in southern France, Corsica and Sardinia issued flood warnings as heavy rain delivered 50–100mm totals, with more expected.
