Trump confirms new US strikes on Iran’s Qeshm Island
US President Donald Trump confirmed that American forces carried out strikes on Iran's Qeshm Island, describing them as limited hits on air defence systems while claiming "a lot of progress" in talks with Tehran. Iranian state media reported missile strikes in the Suza area of Qeshm, near the Strait of Hormuz, and said air defences destroyed a US MQ-9 drone; CENTCOM characterised the situation as "relatively calm" and announced a $20m reward for information on Iran's nuclear programme.
