Musk says Tesla to wind down polarising Cybertruck production as sales lag
Tesla will wind down Cybertruck production at its Texas Gigafactory around the middle of next year to free capacity for Cybercab output, CEO Elon Musk announced on X. The angular stainless-steel truck, launched to consumers in 2023, fell far short of Musk's 250,000-a-year sales target, with about 38,965 units sold in 2024 and 20,237 in 2025. Musk did not say whether production would move to another plant; the Texas site is the only known manufacturing location.
