Peter Magyar Sworn In as Hungarian Prime Minister, Ending Orban's 16-Year Rule
Hungary's new prime minister, Peter Magyar, 45, was formally sworn into office nearly a month after defeating his predecessor Viktor Orban in the parliamentary election, ending Mr. Orban's 16-year rule. Mr. Magyar, leader of the center-right Tisza party, came to power on promises of change after years of economic stagnation and strained relations with key allies. His party secured an overwhelming majority in parliament, winning 141 of the 199 seats.
