UN Extends Darfur Arms Embargo, Rejects Push to Expand Sanctions Across Sudan
The UN Security Council extended the Darfur arms embargo by two months but rejected a US bid to widen sanctions to all of Sudan after Russia and China objected. The resolution, adopted as a short-term technical rollover, keeps the sanctions mechanism in place until December 11 and the panel of experts until January 2027.
