Federal judge strikes down Trump’s $100,000 fee on H-1B visas
A federal judge in Boston ruled on November 22 that Trump’s $100,000 fee on H-1B visas for high-skilled foreign workers is an illegal tax. The ruling, in a case brought by 20 Democratic state attorneys general, found the fee exceeded presidential authority. Judge Leo Sorokin noted the fee reduced applications and constituted a tax, not a penalty.
