Portugal housing protests: Thousands return to squares after police clear camps and arrest 55
Thousands of protesters returned to central squares in Lisbon and Porto to demand action on Portugal's housing crisis, hours after police broke up protest camps and detained 55 people. Organisers say more than 1,000 people gathered in each city. Activists are pressing the centre-right government to withdraw a bill they say makes evictions easier and to keep rent caps on new leases.
