BP partners with Trump-linked firms to develop Venezuela offshore gas field
BP has announced plans to develop the second phase of the Loran gas field offshore Venezuela in partnership with two oil companies closely tied to the Trump administration, marking one of the first large-scale foreign investments in the country since the US toppled Nicolás Maduro in January. The deal makes BP one of the first major international oil companies to return to Venezuela, after rival Shell secured the license for phase one earlier this summer.
