Study: Japan's Imperial Army Tested Malaria on Its Own Soldiers
A Meiji Gakuin University researcher revealed that during the Second Sino-Japanese War, the Imperial Japanese Army infected mentally ill soldiers with malaria via mosquito bites for military research. The experiments targeted troops considered unfit for combat, raising alarms over wartime medical atrocities. Japan's Defense Ministry has not commented on the findings.
