US House Minority Leader urges visa approval for Cape Verde goalkeeper's mother
US House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries has urged Secretary of State Marco Rubio to help the mother of Cape Verde goalkeeper Vozinha get a visa to watch her son play in the World Cup, after she could not afford the $15,000 bond required under Trump-era rules. Evora missed her son's historic debut against Spain, and Jeffries says no mother should miss such an occasion. The State Department says it is proactively reaching out to the family.
