US Social Security Benefits to Rise 3.6% Starting 2027
US Social Security benefits will increase 3.6% starting in 2027, the largest adjustment in four years, adding about $75 a month for retirees and people with disabilities. The change affects 72 million Social Security recipients and nearly 73 million SSI beneficiaries, while the taxable wage cap rises to $192,300.
