Japanese Snack Brand Switches to Black-and-White Packaging as Ink Shortage Sparks Iran War Fallout
Calbee, a major Japanese snack maker, is temporarily switching 14 products to black-and-white packaging due to an ink shortage caused by the U.S.-Israel war on Iran disrupting naphtha supplies through the Strait of Hormuz. Japan imports 40% of its naphtha from the Middle East, and the blockade has forced companies to seek alternatives.
