Democrats have won control of both the US House of Representatives and Senate in the 2026 midterms, a historic defeat for President Donald Trump's Republicans. With 228 House seats so far and a 54-seat Senate majority, Democrats flipped key Republican strongholds including Texas, Kansas and South Carolina, though Republicans retained wins in Florida, Wyoming and several other states.
