Danish students join European protest wave against education funding cuts
Thousands of Danish students marched in Copenhagen on November 4, 2026, against government plans to scrap or scale back the universal student allowance (SU) for students from wealthier families, part of a wider wave of European youth protests. Organisers said up to 13,000 joined the "Enough Is Enough" rally, while student associations reported some 40,000 students on strike at 57 schools. The government says about 14,000 students would lose their stipends and 8,000 would see reductions as funds are redirected toward defence.
