US Senator Abdul El-Sayed launches ‘Habibi’ political action committee
Michigan Senator-elect Abdul El-Sayed has launched a leadership political action committee called "Habibi PAC", days after becoming the first Muslim elected to the US Senate. The FEC filing allows him to raise and spend money to support other candidates, a common tool for building influence in Congress. El-Sayed, who defeated Republican Mike Rogers, made getting money out of politics a central campaign pledge.
