Macron Rejects French Interior Minister's Resignation After Violent Protests
President Emmanuel Macron has refused Interior Minister Laurent Nunez's resignation after nationwide protests over education and living costs turned into riots and looting. The Elysee said Nunez must stay to maintain the police chain of command and explain the planning and intelligence failures behind the violence. More than 2,300 people were arrested and nearly 1,000 police and gendarmes injured on Saturday.
