Protesters break into Microsoft data centre site in Amsterdam
Hundreds of protesters broke into a Microsoft data centre construction site in Amsterdam's Sloterdijk district on Friday, with some clashing with police, climbing a crane and setting off flares. Dutch police detained 150-200 people suspected of trespassing as part of a two-day Europe-wide 'Stop Dirty Data Centres' mobilisation spanning 15 countries. Microsoft said it respects peaceful expression but does not condone unlawful actions or safety risks.
