Gaza: Three Years of War Have Reshaped the City's Face
More than 80% of buildings in Gaza have been damaged or destroyed since the war began in October 2023, according to the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics. UNESCO has verified damage to 164 cultural sites, including the Great Omari Mosque, Qasr al-Basha and the al-Qissariya Market. Archival images placed alongside recent photographs show how streets, markets and public landmarks once familiar to generations have been transformed.
