Rice Bugs Spread to 37 Japanese Prefectures, Damage Mounts
Rice bugs, native insects that suck sap from rice plants, are spreading rapidly across Japan and causing growing damage to crops. They have now been confirmed in 37 prefectures, and experts warn that global warming could allow their habitat to expand further as more insects survive the winter.
