UN report: Global temperature rise beyond 1.5°C now unavoidable
A UN Environment Programme report released Wednesday says global warming beyond 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels is now imminent and unavoidable after decades of inadequate climate action. It urges countries to cut emissions urgently to limit the magnitude and duration of the overshoot, warning that the threshold is now hard to reverse.
