Rains flood thousands of displaced families’ tents in Gaza
Heavy rain from the season's first winter storm flooded thousands of tents across Gaza, with the Civil Defence agency reporting about 1,500 distress calls in 10 hours and water rising 30-40cm in several shelter sites. Displaced families, including premature babies, the elderly and the sick, were forced out into the cold, while damaged buildings collapsed in Nuseirat and northern Gaza. Aid groups say Israeli restrictions on shelter materials and limited truck entries have left Gaza short of roughly 200,000 tents as more than a million displaced people face winter.
