Somali Boy Receives Surgery Funded by Guardian Readers After US Drone Strike

After the Guardian's investigation into a US drone strike that killed 12 civilians in Jamaame, Somalia, seven-year-old Abdiqadir Salah has received major surgery in Mogadishu funded by Guardian readers. The operation removed two pieces of shrapnel, though one fragment remains too risky to extract. His mother, Marian Haji Abdi Guled, says she is grateful for the support and still seeks accountability from the US government.
