Kazakhstan appoints long-time adviser as vice president
Kazakh President Kassym-Jomert Tokayev has appointed long-time adviser Erlan Karin as vice president, a new position created under constitutional changes earlier this year. Karin, 50, becomes first in the line of succession for the Central Asian nation's leadership.
