Former SNP Chief Peter Murrell Admits Embezzling Over £400,000
Peter Murrell, the former chief executive of the Scottish National Party (SNP) and ex-husband of former First Minister Nicola Sturgeon, has admitted embezzling more than £400,000 ($540,000) from party funds. The guilty plea came at the High Court in Edinburgh on Monday after a years-long investigation into SNP finances and the diversion of donations for Scotland's independence campaign. Murrell was remanded in custody ahead of sentencing on June 23.
