US Supreme Court Takes Up Admissions Challenge to Maryland Magnet Schools
The US Supreme Court has agreed to hear a lawsuit challenging Montgomery County, Maryland's admissions policy at four magnet high schools. A parents' group says the policy discriminates against Asian American students to benefit Black and Latino students. Lower courts dismissed the case, finding that Asian American students are admitted at rates above their share of applicants.
