‘Clicky Ponting’ handed two-year suspension over cricket cheating scandal
Amateur English cricketer Brian Devine, nicknamed 'Clicky Ponting' after a viral video showed him clicking his fingers while fielding to fool umpires into thinking the batsman had edged the ball, has been suspended from all cricket for two years, the North Yorkshire and South Durham Cricket League announced. His club, Saltburn, was fined £300 and its second XI relegated with a 60-point deduction for the 2027 season. Devine and the club admitted the charges.
