Spain Requests EU Assistance for 5,000 Migrants in Ceuta Amid Local Unrest
Spain has formally asked the European Border and Coast Guard Agency (Frontex) for assistance in processing about 5,000 migrants in Ceuta, following their mass crossing from Morocco on July 30. The request, sent to EU officials on Friday, seeks to add 10 Frontex personnel to expedite screening, as local protests and attacks on migrant camps heighten tensions in the city.
