Protests in Colombia Against President de la Espriella's Austerity Policies
A coalition of opposition parties, unions, Indigenous groups and social movements protested across Colombia on October 14 against the economic and security policies of right-wing President Abelardo de la Espriella. Thousands marched in Bogota and other major cities, joined by former leftist President Gustavo Petro, who launched a nationwide campaign against the government's austerity measures.
