Emi Martinez Undergoes Successful Surgery, Expected Back in a Few Weeks
Chelsea goalkeeper Emi Martinez has confirmed that surgery on his head injury went well and he expects to return within a few weeks. Martinez was stretchered off and taken to hospital after a collision with Everton's Jarrad Branthwaite, with Argentine media reporting jaw damage as well. His absence handed a Premier League debut to 21-year-old Mike Penders, who helped Chelsea keep their first league clean sheet since January.
