Zelensky imposes sanctions on two top Russian sports officials

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree imposing sanctions on Russian Olympic Committee President Stanislav Pozdnyakov and Russian Wrestling Federation President Mikhail Mamiashvili, effective for 10 years. The sanctions affect five people and include 17 restrictions such as asset freezes and revocation of state awards.
On May 2, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree imposing sanctions on two senior Russian sports officials. According to the decree published on Zelensky's website, the sanctions are effective for 10 years.
The sanctioned individuals include Stanislav Pozdnyakov, President of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC), and Mikhail Mamiashvili, President of the Russian Wrestling Federation (RWF). A total of five people were affected by the latest sanctions, including three Russian citizens.
The standard sanctions include 17 restrictions such as asset freezes, halting commercial transactions, canceling official visits, and permanently revoking these individuals' Ukrainian state awards.
