Yokozuna Hoshoryu Performs Ring-Entry Ceremony at Tokyo Exhibition Tournament

Yokozuna Hoshoryu, who had been absent from three consecutive major sumo tournaments due to injury, returned to the ring to perform the ring-entry ceremony (dohyo-iri) at an exhibition tournament held Monday at Ryogoku Kokugikan in Tokyo.

The ring-entry ceremony is a ceremonial performance by yokozuna, typically held before the main bouts begin. Hoshoryu's appearance in the ceremony at the exhibition tournament marked his return to the ring after a period of injury treatment.

The wrestler had previously withdrawn from three consecutive major tournaments, raising concerns among fans about his physical condition. Exhibition tournaments offer wrestlers a chance to engage with audiences outside the official tournaments held during the year.
