The Adachi Museum of Art, located in Shimane Prefecture, western Japan, said on August 24 that its garden has once again topped the 2025 ranking of Japanese gardens published by a US magazine. This marks the 23rd consecutive year the garden has held the top position.
The ranking, compiled by a US magazine specializing in gardens and travel, evaluates gardens based on criteria such as aesthetics, harmony with surrounding architecture, and visitor experience. Adachi Garden is renowned for its design that blends natural scenery with the art of pruning, and is regarded as one of the most representative gardens in Japan.
A museum representative expressed pride in the continued recognition, stating that they will keep preserving and enhancing the garden's value in response to the expectations of visitors both at home and abroad.
Adachi Garden welcomes a large number of visitors every year, particularly during the autumn foliage season and spring, when its scenery is considered at its most beautiful.
