Iran has kicked off its Cultural Heritage Week with the theme of celebrating national identity and ancient civilization. The event runs from May 18 to 24, 2024, drawing participation from numerous scholars, cultural researchers, and the public.
Key activities during the week include an exhibition of national antiquities, seminars on heritage preservation, and traditional arts programs. Notably, many rare archaeological artifacts from various historical periods are on display to showcase the depth of Iran’s civilization.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Iran’s Minister of Culture emphasized the importance of preserving traditional values in the context of globalization. He affirmed that cultural heritage is a solid foundation for national identity and the country’s sustainable development. Experts also noted that celebrating heritage not only safeguards the past but also promotes international cultural exchange.
