In a recent statement, China reaffirmed its opposition to any US and Israeli military action against Iran. A Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson emphasized that Beijing consistently supports diplomatic and peaceful solutions to international disputes and expressed deep concern over the risk of conflict spreading across the Middle East.
According to sources, China argues that military action against Iran would violate international law and the UN Charter, worsening an already tense situation. Beijing calls on Washington and Tel Aviv to exercise maximum restraint, avoid provocative moves, and seek dialogue to resolve differences through diplomatic channels.
China also underscored the role of the UN Security Council in preventing conflict and safeguarding international peace and security. Beijing stated it is ready to mediate if the parties agree, to promote a political solution to the Iran crisis.
The move comes amid escalating US-Iran tensions in recent weeks, particularly after attacks on US interests in the Middle East and joint US-Israeli military drills. China, as a permanent Security Council member, has repeatedly urged all sides to fully implement relevant resolutions on Iran's nuclear program and respect each other's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
