China Launches Telecommunications Satellite for Algeria

China successfully launched Alcomsat-1, Algeria's first telecommunications satellite, early Monday from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center. The satellite, built by CASC, will provide telecommunications, broadcasting, TV, and broadband internet services to Algeria and the region. Launched on a Long March 3B rocket, it will operate in geostationary orbit to boost communications coverage and digital development.
Early Monday, China successfully launched Algeria's Alcomsat-1 telecommunications satellite from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in southwestern Sichuan province. This marks Algeria's first telecommunications satellite.
The Alcomsat-1 satellite has been placed into its intended orbit, representing a significant milestone in space cooperation between China and Algeria. Built by the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC), the satellite is expected to provide telecommunications, broadcasting, television, and broadband internet services to Algeria and neighboring regions.
The launch was carried out using a Long March 3B carrier rocket. According to the plan, Alcomsat-1 will operate in geostationary orbit, helping Algeria expand its communications coverage and enhance resource management and digital economy development.
