According to Kyodo News, the article in North Korean media condemned the US-South Korea joint military drills, arguing that such actions increase tensions on the Korean Peninsula. The move comes after Trump made remarks related to the exercises as well as relations with Pyongyang.
There has been no official response yet from the US or South Korea regarding North Korean media's statement. Joint exercises between Washington and Seoul have frequently been denounced by Pyongyang as provocative acts, while the US and South Korea insist these activities are defensive in nature.
