On January 20 (local time), Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian delivered a significant address to military commanders, underscoring that the armed forces are the key to national strength and ensuring the country's enduring security.
Speaking at a meeting with the General Staff of the Armed Forces, President Pezeshkian stated: “Iran's armed forces, with their superior preparedness and capabilities, have always been a steadfast shield against all external challenges and threats. This strength comes not only from weapons but also from the fighting spirit, the trust of the people, and belief in revolutionary values.”
The Iranian leader also stressed the importance of enhancing defense capabilities amid regional volatility, reaffirming that the nation's military is ready to protect territorial integrity and national interests.
In his remarks, President Pezeshkian praised the coordination among various forces, including the regular army and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), in maintaining national security and stability. He also called for continued development of defense technology and modernization of equipment to meet the requirements of defending the homeland in the current situation.
The address comes as Iran steps up military activities and exercises to showcase its defensive capabilities while affirming its independent stance on regional and international matters.
