Iran President Thanks Pope for Moral Stance, Affirms Tehran's Steadfastness

Mr. Pezeshkian emphasized that Iran remains steadfast in its foreign policies, particularly amid rising regional and international tensions.

During the exchange, President Pezeshkian praised the Pope's role in promoting peace and dialogue among nations. He affirmed that Iran is always ready to cooperate with well-intentioned parties to address common challenges.

The Vatican said Pope Francis welcomed the message from Tehran and called for continued dialogue and de-escalation. This is one of the rare recent contacts between an Iranian leader and the Catholic Church.
