Oriental Land, the company that operates Tokyo Disney Resort, has announced that its new cruise ship will be named "Disney Imagination." The vessel is expected to enter service in spring 2029.

The name was unveiled as Oriental Land expands its business beyond its Tokyo resort and theme parks, moving into Disney-branded ocean travel.

The announcement was made the same day as several other items in Kyodo News' lineup, including a story about a Japanese shoemaker working to create boots that anyone can wear.
