On May 2, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk criticized the US decision to withdraw 5,000 troops from Germany, arguing that the move is pushing NATO into a state of deepening disintegration.
On social media platform X, Tusk wrote: "The greatest threat to the transatlantic community is not an external enemy, but the ongoing disintegration of our alliance. Everyone must do everything to reverse this harmful trend."
According to the Pentagon, the withdrawal is expected to be completed within the next 6 to 12 months. Currently, approximately 38,000 US troops are stationed in Germany, making it the largest US military presence in Europe.
